Our Purpose
Enzyvo, a name reflecting our core philosophy of marrying Enzymatic power with directed evolution through AI, is dedicated to revolutionizing biotechnology. We engineer innovative enzymes and develop sustainable solutions for the pharmaceutical, chemical, and materials industries by designing novel biocatalysts unburdened by the constraints of natural evolution.
Our vision is to pioneer a new era of sustainable chemical manufacturing. Through our proprietary AI-driven platform, we are creating ultra-stable, highly efficient enzymes—our Ultrazymes—that unlock unprecedented synthetic capabilities. We aim to transform diverse industries by enabling the creation of complex molecules and driving reactions previously beyond reach, thereby architecting the next generation of biocatalysis.
Our Journey
Founded in 2024, Enzyvo's origins trace back to early explorations into the limitations of traditional drug discovery and the vast, untapped potential of peptide-based therapeutics. The initial journey involved delving into peptide science and the strategic use of Non-Canonical Amino Acids (NCAAs) to enhance molecular stability and efficacy. This led to a critical insight: while designing novel peptides was achievable, their synthesis—especially those incorporating NCAAs or complex structures like RiPPs (Ribosomally synthesized and Post-translationally modified Peptides)—posed significant challenges due to enzyme specificity and prohibitive costs.
This realization catalyzed a strategic evolution in our approach. The focus expanded from solely peptide design to include the ambitious engineering of novel enzymes. These enzymes are targeted for the efficient, scalable, and cost-effective synthesis and incorporation of unique NCAAs. Today, Enzyvo is keenly focused on the in-house development and manufacturing of these specialized NCAAs, building a foundational capability for next-generation therapeutics.
Looking ahead, our vision is to leverage these proprietary NCAAs to design and synthesize a new wave of therapeutic peptides and peptidomimetics. The ultimate aspiration is the creation of 'Ultrazymes'—exceptionally stable enzymes, fortified by intra-peptide cross-links. These Ultrazymes are conceived to withstand harsh conditions typical of organic synthesis, thereby unlocking complex chemo-enzymatic pathways and enabling the creation of sophisticated therapeutics previously deemed unattainable. While Ultrazymes represent our long-term ambition for transformative impact (potentially unlocking 100x returns), our current efforts are strategically centered on enhancing existing enzyme capabilities and developing robust enzymes suitable for scalable biofactories, delivering significant near-term advancements and value (aiming for 5-10x return on investment). This pragmatic approach allows us to build momentum and deliver impactful solutions while progressing towards our most ambitious goals in architecting the future of biocatalysis.

Ultra-Stable Enzymes (Ultrazymes): Our long-term goal involves pioneering Ultrazymes, particularly through the CUSTOM and FORTRESS platforms. These enzymes, often incorporating non-canonical amino acids and strategic cross-linking, will exhibit exceptional stability under extreme conditions, enabling robust and versatile applications.
Unlocking New-to-Nature Chemistry: We aim to enable the biocatalytic synthesis of complex molecules and drive reactions previously beyond the reach of traditional enzymes, thus expanding the scope of sustainable chemical manufacturing.
Sustainable Manufacturing Platform: We are developing a complete chemo-enzymatic platform, combining advanced enzyme technology with scalable production capabilities, to deliver environmentally friendly and economically viable solutions.
Biocatalysis Foundry: Our ambition includes establishing a state-of-the-art manufacturing platform for the reliable and scalable production of complex molecules using our engineered enzymes, mirroring the specialized leadership of foundries in other advanced industries.
